To create the graphs from our audience questionnaire I made them on Microsoft excel then copy and pasted them onto paint to make them the size i wanted and to save the image of the graph only.

Question 1;

From this graph we can see that we asked people mainly of the age range of 15-20. This is because we had limited access of people to ask and mainly asked people within our year and group to answer the questionnaire. This age group Is our around the age of our target audience anyway, meaning we get to see what our target audience thought of our opening scene.

Question 2;

As we can see from this graph, we were successful in making our opening scene the genre 'horror' as a majority of the people who watched the clip thought it did fall under the genre of 'horror'. The rest of the people asked, however, thought it was a 'thriller', the genre 'thriller' is closely linked with 'horror' in a sense as they are both meant to be tense, thrilling and shocking.

Question 3;

As we can see from this graph, all the people we asked to watch the clip believed it to be rated either 15 or 18. This means we were successful in making our film for over 15's and for 18+.

Question 4;

This graph proves that we were successful in making sure that the title was clearly shown. As 100% of people said that yes, the film title is clearly shown. This is good as people will then be able to know what the title is very clearly.

Question 5;

 This graph shows us that a majority of the people who watched our opening scene thought that it did work well as an opening scene. This is what we hoped and has worked well for us.

Question 6;

This graph shows us how most people felt scared while watching our opening scene, the rest said that they felt suspense and felt uncomfortable. This means that we were successful in achieving the elements of 'horror' in our opening scene.

Question 7;

This graph tells us that we were successful in creating effective costumes and make-up. Most of the people who saw our clip thought that all three ( make-up, the hair and the costumes) were effective. Nobody said that none were effective, showing that we made sure that these elements were effective.

Question 8;
This graph shows us that the settings we chose were successful in creating suspense and contain an erie feeling. This is what we hoped to gain through choosing our settings.

Question 9;

This graph shows that more people thought the editing to be more aesthetically pleasing then people who didn't. However, it also shows us how we could have improved on the editing as it was close. We asked this question to gain knowledge as to whether or not our editing was successful.

Question 10;

This graph shows that a vast majrity of the people who watched our clip thought that the music did fit well with the opening scene. This means that our music was successful and did go well with our footage. meaning that we were successful in making the music and sounds go well together in our opening scene.

Question 11;

This graph shows us how most of the people who saw our opening scene would want to carry on wathcing the film to see what happens, this is good for us because we now know that people would want to see the end result of our film. The main reasons for yes, they wanted to watch the rest of the film were:
  • Curious to know what happens
  • Looks like good story line
  • Questions to be answered
