We have decided to use three main camera angles in our film. Eye-level, oblique angle and a low-angle. These angles we think will be best for our clip as they fit in well with the theme and with our storyboard.
We chose to use the eye-level camera angle as this camera angle is at the same level as the human eye, giving the effect that the character is watching the audience, this can make the audience feel threatened and can feel much more real for the audience. This can also make the audience feel as thought they are there and can create understanding in the audience. We plan to use this for the close-up of the little girls face whilst she is whispering, creating a much more direct feel.
We chose to use the oblique camera angle, this angle represents madness and disorientation. This works well with our film as we intend to make the audience feel frightened and uncomfortable to make sure we make a successful horror film. This camera angle is titled on an axis with the lens aimed at an object, this shows instability and can leave fear in the audience. We are planning to use this angle for the dead body on the woods floor, to create an illusionist atmosphere as to what is happening.
We chose to use the low-angle, this angle is achieved when the camera is positioned lower then the action taking place in a scene with the lens aimed up at the subject. This is used to symbolise power and authority, we are planning to use this shot when we film the little girl walking down the church stairs, this will create an effect that the little girl is the opposite to what she seems but is in fact inferior and the audience will then gain a sense of fear from this character and have to look up at her.
